Item size:   30cm x 15cm. Porcelain. Cobalt Carbonate. 14K Gold. Handmade&Painted. 

The small cheese knife is included: 11cm x 3cm, it is glazed and decorated with 14K Gold.

Making this piece was so much fun. Inspired by the ocean water and Dutch skies. I made this platter by rolling a piece of porcelain clay out. I worked the cobalt carbonate powder in the wet clay whiles rolling it. The platter then rested and dried before being fired up to 1200'C.

I then proceeded to glaze the platter with transparent glaze, this time firing up to 1270'C. Then for the last process, I painted on 14k gold luster onto the glazed platter firing it for the last time to 700'C.

Now the platter is ready to enjoy and is Oven, Dishwasher safe. Don't place the item in your microwave as the gold will create sparks in your microwave.

One of kind ceramic pieces. All handmade and signed with CC's potter's mark. No mass production, but each piece lovingly made by hand.
