'Fragile Peace' Stoneware Sculpture

Peace is fragile as we saw in the last couple of months, that in a blink of an eye war can break out. We are yet to see the devastating global effect the war in Ukraine has across the globe. Many countries relies on their main staple food coming from Ukraine. This crisis could lead to famine in many a developing country. As always, children suffer the most during war and famine. I am deeply troubled about the direction the world is hurling towards and for my own child’s future. I hope however that I conveyed a sense of hope and optimism by the 'bird in flight' in the piece, to symbolise both freedom and a hope for the future. I also thought just now, how applicable this image is toward the gun trade of assualt weapons in the USA.
